Carmen Creek Gourmet Bison will now be available at some 218 Canada Safeway retail outlets throughout Western Canada beginning March 2007.
The product will be featured as 454 gram (one pound) blocks of frozen lean ground bison. All Carmen Creek Gourmet Bison products carry Canada’s Health Check logo – the Heart and Stroke Foundation's food information program in which every food in the program is evaluated by registered dieticians, based on Canada's Food Guide. Health Check signifies consumer assurance that approved products contribute to an overall healthy diet.
“We’re very excited about this opportunity,” says Dean Andres, Co-Founder and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Carmen Creek Gourmet Meats. “Now Canadians can discover the benefits of this pure, natural red meat loaded with flavour and nutritional quality. Our packaging encourages consumers to check our web site for preparation suggestions, recipes, and nutritional analysis.”
As a red meat, Carmen Creek Gourmet Bison is distinguished as being exceptionally lean (significantly less fat than beef or pork), high in iron and zinc, naturally raised without additives or hormones, and grass/grain fed for tenderness. The product will be demonstrated for consumers in Canada Safeway’s Sunday March 11.
